Information Sharing Legislation Training

Training on new information-sharing legislation was needed for law enforcement. The challenge was to not only educate on the new legislation, but overcome a long history of hesitation towards sharing information and show learners that this was a critical part of their investigative work in an engaging way.

I designed and built a complex, graphic-novel style branching scenario for instructor-led training. The scenario immersed learners in a realistic case, where their choices to share information or not directly impacted the outcome.

I conducted a needs analysis with learners and leaders to identify key blockers and advocated for a scenario-based solution. I then planned out the complex branching logic and built the scenario using Articulate Storyline and Photoshop for the visuals.

The training, and specifically the branching scenario, has been met with consistently positive feedback. The scheme has seen significant uptake by learners since release, demonstrating a clear understanding and effective application of the new legislation.
